about us
Imagine that you are a journalist. The game gives you an opportunity to independently build a story and publish it, seek sources, verify facts, balance opinions and more importantly, test yourself whether you are a tolerant or intolerant reporter.

On the first stage, a participant takes decisions by ticking a correct answer from several possible answers; on the second stage she/he builds a story and publishes it on the agency webpage.

Player with the best result will turn into an angel, while the player with the worst result will burst with anger in the end. Everyone has an opportunity to view the final piece of work and analyze mistakes.

YOU ARE A REPORTER OF FLASH NEWS AGENCY. MADONNA, A FACEBOOK USER, WROTE A POST ABOUT THE SCHOOL CALLED KNIGHT:
In order to avoid reporting the information posted on social networks as an undeniable fact and misleading audience, it is necessary to verify it with at least two independent sources and report the issue in a balanced manner.

TICK ONE SOURCE WHOSE COMMENT IS NOT NEWSWORTHY TO BE USED IN THE STORY.
The school administration is another independent source to necessarily verify the information released by the parent with.
Not all parents share the same opinion and it is important to cover opinions of those who agree with the decision of the school.
Not all comments are newsworthy. Media should better ignore hate speech comments made by people who are not public figures. You may only mention that the comments on the post on social network included some that incited hatred.
It is desirable to seek opinions of migrant parents too in order to make them subjects and not objects of the report.

SELECT 5 SENTENCES THAT REFLECT FACTS, NOT OPINIONS. COMPILE THE TEXT OF A NEWS STORY.
A fact is something that may be verified and supported by evidence. Opinion is a belief or view of a particular person.
You have not only to select sentences but also to put them in the right order. Look at your sentences and if you think they need to be reordered, do so. If not, move to the next question.
Reordering is possible by dragging each of the sentences and dropping them where you think they should stand.
4/7
hate or tolerate?
SELECT 4 COMMENTS THAT WILL REFLECT OPINIONS OF ALL PARTIES IN A BALANCED WAY AND INSERT THEM IN THE TEXT IN CORRESPONDING SENTENCES.
Do not cover a comment reinforcing a stereotype that all migrants are Muslims and all Muslim migrants are terrorists. By doing so, you will contribute to inciting hatred.
A comment of the parent of refugee children will contribute to a comprehensive and inclusive reporting.
A parent criticizing the decision of school is one of the parties to the story and her position must be presented in the report; however, it is recommended to rephrase her hate speech comment.
Parents are not homogeneous and not everyone expresses negative attitude towards migrants; therefore those who have different stance must also be represented.
Drag each of the red comments and drop them right after corresponding sentences before moving to the next question.

CHOOSE 2 KEY WORDS FOR #TAGS.
The status of refugee is granted to a foreign citizen or stateless person who owing to a well-founded fear of being persecuted for reasons of race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group, or political opinion, is outside the country of his nationality.
In contrast to a refugee, internally displaced person is someone who is forced to flee his or her home but who remains within his or her country's borders.
It is incorrect to refer to all foreigners as “illegals” as the term applies to only those who violate the procedure of entering a country or who no longer has the right to stay in the country. It is unacceptable to indicate a religious or other identity of a person if it is not essential for the story and is important to understand the essence of the topic.
Migrant is a person who moves from one country to another to improve his/her material and social conditions as well as improve personal or his/her family’s future prospects.

CHOOSE THE TITLE
The status of a refugee is granted to a foreign citizen or stateless person who owing to a well-founded fear of being persecuted for reasons of race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group, or political opinion, is outside the country of his nationality.
Generalizing the comment of a single parent and presenting it as a shared position of all parents is misleading and violates the principle of accuracy and impartiality.
Do not use such a quote in the title that condones intolerance against people of different identity. Instead of a sensational title oriented on negativism and conflicts, select a neutral option.

CHOOSE A PHOTO
Exercise extreme caution when selecting a photo as it concerns children. It is better to choose a general photo where particular persons cannot be identified. Avoid using such visual material that reflects religious identity and is not either directly or indirectly related to the reported topic.
